Financial assistance for your insulation project

Your home’s comfort and work suited to the building come first. Potential assistance depends on where the home is located, the work and the pathway selected.

Where is your home located? Province and browsing language are separate choices.

Your home is in Québec

Québec

roof insulation and caulking

LogisVert provides up to $1,500 for eligible roof insulation combined with caulking. The home must be in Québec and primarily heated with electricity. The entire roof must reach at least R-50, and caulking must meet all program requirements. Caulking alone is insufficient. The homeowner applies to Hydro-Québec. The application portal is available in French only.

the new Rénoclimat pathway

For an eligible house, assistance can reach $2,000 for roof insulation, $7,000 for exterior walls and $2,500 for foundations. Since October 1, 2026, an energy assessment is optional but recommended. An appropriately licensed contractor must perform the work and sign the compliance attestation. Homeowners retain supporting documents and apply under the official rules.

Existing files under the former rules must be distinguished from the new pathway. To finish under the former rules, the post-retrofit energy assessment must take place by March 31, 2027. Confirm your pathway with the program before choosing work or relying on assistance.

Ontario

Home Renovation Savings

In Ontario, the Home Renovation Savings assessment pathway may offer up to $1,500 for attic insulation, up to $3,600 for exterior walls and up to $250 for air sealing. An energy assessment through an approved service organization is required before any work starts. At least two qualifying upgrades and a final assessment are required; amounts depend on the work, areas and program criteria. Confirm your pathway and deadlines before committing.

another attic insulation pathway

The program also offers an attic pathway without an energy assessment. It requires a preliminary visit and installation by a contractor on the official list. Consult the program before starting and confirm the amounts and deadlines for your file. This is separate from the assessment pathway.

Province, housing type, heating and previous rebates affect eligibility. For the assessment pathway, the final visit must occur within 180 days of the initial visit or by December 31, 2026, whichever comes first; its booking must be entered in the program system by November 30, 2026. These dates come from the terms reviewed October 26, 2026 and must be reconfirmed with the service organization. No rebate is guaranteed.

Maël reviews your proposed work and prepares an estimate. This does not replace an energy assessment by a certified advisor. Maël does not represent any program or guarantee eligibility or payment. Program administrators apply their own criteria. Do not assume rebates can be combined for the same work; check each program’s rules.

Questions about financial assistance

Does no energy assessment mean no visit?

No. The standalone attic pathway requires an initial visit by an approved contractor. Work completed before this visit does not qualify under that pathway.

Can any contractor deliver the standalone attic pathway?

No. The contractor must be on the official list. The assessment pathway requires a professional insulation contractor but follows separate rules. Consult the program before choosing.

Does LogisVert cover attic insulation alone?

Not under this measure: roof insulation and caulking must be combined and meet the requirements.

Is an energy assessment mandatory?

It depends on the pathway: optional under the new Rénoclimat rules; required before and after work in Ontario’s assessment pathway. A Maël estimate is separate.

Can I add LogisVert and Rénoclimat together?

Do not count on both programs for the same work. Confirm the rules for your file.

Does Maël guarantee a rebate?

No. The program administrator determines eligibility and payment.

Who prepares the documents?

For the Québec pathways, the homeowner applies; the contractor provides work documentation and the required Rénoclimat attestation. Ontario pathways follow their own official procedures.
